2l V6 Turbo

Post by SimonB »

Has anyone ever put a 2l V6 turbo engine out of a 164 into a GTV6 or 75? There's one available around here and I wondered... I guess it could be like converting the 3l but maybe with packaging problems for the turbos. Apologies if this is already listed somewhere but I don't remeber seeing it.

being ive not actualy seen one........the only major hicups i forsee is the electronics swap and re-locating the turbo/s.....exhaust re-plumbing isnt a major deal but calming the heat and getting the routing right can be a real pain on any car

To be frank I think it's easier to convert a stock 2.5 to turbos then to fit a 2.0 turbo. First of all there is only on turbo and from memory it sits exactly where the streering column and master cylinder already fight for space. The cross over(under?) exhaust pipe is routed where you have the steering rack and on and on.

For that incredibly measly power increase I'd rather fit a 3.0 actually.

i drove a 164 2,0 V6 turbo years ago and i can tell you that this engine is ,without chipping, A LOT faster than a 3,0 V6
if you plan to put a 3,0 engine in your car take the 24V!!
