The turbo from my 75 has developed a crack in the turbine (exhaust) side. It's located near the pivot from the wastegate valve.
I guess there's no air leak yet, but how long can this hang on?
Is there any repair procedure, or I just have to replace it?
If I have to replace it, what turbo should I go for, considering I'd like have driveability rather than brute power...? I've been suggested a smaller T25 from a 916 GTV V6 Turbo or a fase II Escort Cossie...

How about ALL 75 turbos?
If you think that crack is bad you probably shouldn't look on the underside of the manifold, they are usually cracked in all the pipes. Terrible design.
No worries though, as you have noticed they seldom leak, maybe when they are cold but not when heated to operating temps.
Do NOT change it for something with a smaller turbine, the 75 t with it's inefficient head/compression setup produce a lot of exhaust gasses and does not like back pressure. So moving to a smaller turbine will give you problems with boost creep and heat.

Mats,
acording to what you say, the EVO manifold should make a big difference...
Here are some pictures of the crack:
Engine cold:
5 secs. after been started from cold (water leaking???):
10 secs after been started from cold (water evaporised by heat):
Should I be worried?
