Hey guys could somebody verify for me the size of the crankshaft nut? Is it 40mm and will your average 1 5/8" socket fit?

I have a super cheap SAE set I use and never have had a problem with the mondo big nuts like that. there is so much surface you can not strip it. it is also handy when you want to turn the crank some. I also use the big sockits to remove and install bushings(with some thread-all and a few washers) and to install shaft seals.

I think it cost me $30 or so at ACE like 15 years ago. I have used that big set for a lot of stuff.
this looks like thse same set I have but metric http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... umber=5494
