an 3.2litre gta engine into an alfetta gt?

Post by niczii »

is it possible to fit the gtaengine into an alfetta gt, i am primarily concerned about the oilpan being different and hitting the crossmember in the rear of the enginebay in the alfetta gt.

i know that ppl have fitted gta engines into gtv6's before but i don't know of the necessary fixes to get it to fit.

please enlighten me

use the search-function, lots of info here....

Look for Kevins topic about his cars, he has several amazing cars with amazing engines. 8)

GTA engine is not the easiest option, 3.0 24v from 164 is easier to fit into a transaxle. Oilpan/sump is the biggest problem since you can't use the sump from a GTV6/75V6 like on the 3.0 24v 164 engine. either you make your own sump or cut and weld up the original... :(
Drive it like you stole it...

You deffinately cannot use origional sump. You either make a special type sump or shorten the origional one like some other chaps have done on this forum. Second type reduces oil volume. GTA conversion is much harder especially on waterpump side but its all do able. Read up on the forums as there are lots of pics and comments. Its all there. It would be easier to use the front end of GTV 6 prop with the rear of your GT. This would be done by prop specialist.
One more thing is the sump is 20mm deeper because of chain drive pump.
