Alfa 164 3.0 V6 12v and 24v engines
Does anybody know if the engine block is the same in the 12v engine as in the 24v one?

Yep, casting s identical....
Small changes over time - holes drilled others filled, small fins here and there, the 164 blocks still have the gear-driven oil pump hole just like the 12v 2.5 and 3.0s....
The "new generation" blocks have the exact same mounting points still all pretty much the same, but the oil pump is now within the crankcase with a chain-driven setup off of the crank.... So, the oil cam hole on the top right by # 1 is gone...
