Balancing factor 3.2 V6 + solid flywheel 2.5?

Post by killaz »

How to determine balancing factor required for 3.2 engine? I know that there are diferences between 2.5 and 3.0, but how do guys from SA resolve these differences, while switching to front mounted gearbox?

Plan is to use 3.2 engine with 2.5 24v flywheel and 6 speed gearbox.

Engine donor is Lancia Thesis with automatic gear box...

Thank you,
Lazar

How about determening the imbalance of the lancia ringgear and copying that?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that!

I remember balancing jig that was made by someone here... Is it doable in diy or we need to send parts to dedicated shop?

Get Lancia flywheel to zero with jig and aditional weight then transfer 2.5 flywheel to copy it.

Thank you man!!!

balancing factor is described in Jim K. book.
50% is normal, for trackcar that sees a lot of revs, use 51 max 52%
I did my engine by the book and it revs smoothly and freely.
