Does anyone here know of a good source of mandrel bent exhaust tubes? So far, I have just looked at Summit Racing's web site and I wonder if there is somthing else I should look at?

I am looking for mandrel bends to make a custom exhaust system as well as bends to make custom intake runners for my 3l 75 milano.
Does anyone know the specifications of the 30degree bent tube that I will use for the intake runners? This discussion has been started on a different thread. I will post a link to it.

I am thinking 1.5 in (38.x mm) or1.75in (44.x mm) diameter (What do you think?)
Bend: 30 degrees (I think)

What I really dont know are the centerline radius for the bend and
runner length.

I am planning to keep the length about the same as stock for fitment reasons, but I would love to know if somebody recommends somthing else.

My project is a Alfa 166 3.0 24V engine conversion for 116 .
I´m planning to replace the original Alfa 166 chrome bends with 1 7/8 30 deg steel bends to fit to a modified GTV6 116 intake plenum with integrated airhorns.

Save your money for other improvements. Just Wed. of this week I had my 164 in to an exhaust shop to have new flex sections welded in. This guy does a lot of hot rod custom exhaust work and bends up all his own pipe. I asked him about mandrel bending and he said the advantage is so small that it isn't worth it. His bending ovals the pipe through the bends but does not corrugate the inside of the bend. Three different types of benders, corrugator, ovaler and mandrel. For sure mandrel is best, but not worth it for these cars.

If you are making headers usually you have to cut and join various curves. Ive found the joints made from mandrel bends take a lot less work to match up than some other types of bends. For exhaust runs get your exhaust tech to bend something up.
