No haven't done anything more . Too busy earning a buck. Have to redo the brakes yet. Probably this week end.

If you want an exhaust flange made, Daniel has the CAD drawings. Send him a PM.

Found something you might like regarding your steering arm dilemma.

It's a 105 series front upright - they have bolt on steering arms, come in 2 different lengths and 3 different caliper patterns!
I'm going to have to retrieve one of my spare upights for a looksee.

nicee, looks like it's a bolt on upgrade! do you know if these uprights are any taller than the std 116 ones?

Like I said, going to have to take some measurements.

from what I remember the lower ball joint of the 105 front is the same dimension as transaxle.
The 105, 1300 have a same bolt pattern for brake calipers as 116 with vented discs.
Many 105 guys search for these uprights to mount the aluminum brembo's.

And when going partly to 105 parts..... check the  alfaholics site expensive but nice looking stuff...

roll center / bump steer nicely changed....

So, this morning I took some quick and dirty measurements of my 2l 105 front uprights, and Daniel sent me a cad model he'd created of the 116 upright, so by comparing them the upright heights are about the same give or take 5mm, but the 105 stub axle is closer to the bottom BJ by about 1/2".. however with a flipped bottom balljoint this might give enough room to run smaller wheels than is traditionally done with the flipped BJ (and infact the pic showing the Alfaholics stuff is inside a 15" wheel). The big thing is that by eye-balling, flipping the steering arms side to side so a) they run downhill to the tie-rod and
b) the tie rod end is below the steering arm, it looks like it's getting close to the desired steering arm position, maybe even too low, which means you could lower the steering rack, and hence engine :)

Still not there but getting closer. Finally got my new trailer so I can move it to where it needs work on. Still got the wiring harness to install. The final exhaust stage to fit and then a dyno tune if it all seem ok...

Will post some update pics when the Cab is in actual operation mode.

Finally got the engine fired up. Now all I got to do is hope and prey it hangs together on the dyno! All my wiring is still in test mode so I wont tidy it up until I know all my circuits are trouble free and I have added all the circuits I actually want.

I must say , Haltec have come a long way and this Sports 1000 unit is a tuner's dream.

Hi Kevin,

The current Haltec ECU series is a much more versitile unit than previous models made by the company. Motec is still the top of the tree but frankly the added features that are offered for considerably more money are just not needed for my sort of application. Meanwhile, Haltec does a very flexible job. My dyno tuner who works on modified MX5's exclusively says it's the duck's nuts.
How long? Well I 'll tell you that after I get my first tuning done but even then this will not be accurate because we will be doing trial runs to find the induction sweet spot and stopping and starting. Trimming the length of ram tubes and then starting again and then making adjustments again. However, if this was just a straight "tune up" (which it isn't)that would be more meaningfull for you.

..of course there will be a lull over Easter so catch you on the other side.

Ben / Kevin,

If you want to stuff around and fit the best front end for coil over conversions with upside down ball joints already factory fitted, this is the car that has them-the 101 series. Absolutely beautifull front end. Wait there's more...if you are game enough to to leave the light weight, air cooled, triple self adjusting shoe DRUM brakes on that will piss on any disc brake in town (as used in earlier formula 1 stuff) you can put the brave pants on and do that too.

Amazing what you find with Alfa when you look back...
