Gotcha! Thanks for the suggestions and Picasso drawings - very well done for the hour... Suffering from sleep deprevation or just early bird? Go get that coffee! Just loaded up the trailer - heading straight for WSR after work tomorrow (ehh - Friday) - time to see if the head gasket on the street milano holds up... IT WILL, IT WILL, IT WILL.

Maurizio,My experience with stainless is that it eventually fatigues and cracks. Its not a good material for vibration or movement..The continual opposite forces acting on it says its going to crack somewhere, probably right next to the welds..Nicely made though..let me know when it cracks or even if it does..This is an interesting one..How long have you been running it in your car??

If stress levels are kept within reason (<35% of the tensile strength) fatigue is no problem. Been running it for 2 years now on the TS. There are several more street and track only cars running this bar over here (a pipe is 6 meters  ) no problems yet. On my street car (V6) it was about 1 year on it, traded in a 28 mm steel bar, but will go back to my own again.

This looks really good! But is it necessary to do this big improvements to only run coil overs? My plan is to just reinforce the place around the area to cope with all the stress that will be around that area.

But your plan looks really good, and solid! and i see the idea behind. But i am also thinking of even more since i still have the time and now is the time to do it.

My 2.0 GTV weighs in around 850kg. It is currently running 350lb front springs on coilovers, with no torsion bar. I have the corner weights here somewhere...just not handy.

I dont recollect seeing a welcome to the site extension to you.
By all means show and tell us all about your car..(in the introduction section and not this one)

Cheers, MD

Sorry about that!!! Ettiquette error rectified...

Found the corner weight info...

LF - 216kg, RF - 267kg, LR - 192kg, RR - 174kg.

Front springs were as stated, still working out what rate springs are on the back.

The cage ties into the car above the front coilover mounts.

I rest my case!

This is again a proof against the 50/50 weight distribution poof.
I hope you have more right hand turns on our tracks.
