At the first lap of my qualifying (which else), the gear stick suddenly got loose. Well, lost the quali but that was not the main issue. After looking under the car to find the pin holding the gear selector to the shaft coming out from the gearbox fell off, I realized now I'm in trouble.

After a short thinkabout I and trial I found there's NO WAY to fix it at the track. Even after towing the car home for the night between the quali and race I found it would take at least 6-8 hours to fix it normally (my flat bottom is NOT exactly service friendly).

Fixing took just 2 hours or so and most time was spent protecting the windows and removing seat and belt.

After now servicing isn't that bad anymore 8)

I'll need it next time when I ditch the iso stuff.

PS! In the first picture the cure for sloppy gearbox mounts is visible as well.

Wow, isostatic, I thought you were smarter then that...

Nice out-of-the-box fix though. :)

Noblody accused me for being smart.
Isoshift is simply left behind from '91 or so when I changed to a TS box.
It works pretty well so it's not my main concern. It will be changed some day.

Here's a couple of pics of the roll cage.

No horisontal in the dash?

Two thin ones which also hold the dash in place.

:D radical but everything is allowed to enter a race at the last moment.

Me likes the cage. Nice ones the traverse over the foot well and to the back, only miss a traverse from the front (top shock area) to the bulk head.
Had something similar in mind, only want to keep the passenger seat.
