I think it costs AUS$350 with hose and clamp, but may not include the 4" aluminum adapter. You need to confirm with him. If you're buying from europe, I think it's worth it. It will be less than $250 euro.

I thought about modifying my own airbox, but a lot of the shops here charge US$100/hr. So if it takes 2 hours to modify the stock airbox, then that's $200. Then you have to budget for "mistakes" done by the shop who looks at our cars and say "hey is that an Alpher Romero or somethin'? What is that, an eye-talien car? ".

Why not buy from someone who has sold so many of these boxes which are known to fit? Makes more sense.

Hi RZ, hows the car coming on ? Z, I am going with this similiar intake of race car on the 3.2. This intake must work as my 3.0l is one of the strongest 3.0l 24v on this dyno and all its got is the gta 2 spec intake with the gotech. Ok so the power only peaks up above 6000rpm(which is normal). I got some interesting data from the dyno room as mentioned on my cars where power occurs with the particular specs. Must say my 3.7 is not nearly as strong as yours but then im an amateur. Its got huge midrange.
If you dont have individual throttles there is huge power to be found in the plennum and intake as I found . Hence watching the other thread closely. I am gonna bigger than this one.

The lower airbox should be opened up too, I will post some pics of what I did. I like the stock paper element for longevity of the engine (better filtration performance). I think the flow may offset the slightly more restrictive nature of paper filters.

My 3.0 24V will have about 11:1 compression, and custom cams. I was told that the cams total duration in of itself is not the only thing to pay attention too. The ramp rate is also important. Some cams have such an early opening (mostly on large duration cams) on the intake side that they bleed off some compression. I will get some nice cams with good lobe centers, fast ramp without being too nasty on the tappets as well as good duration.

I'm testing out a set of these type of cams next week on my 12V. IF (VERY BIG IF) I can get 200 whp from the 12V, I can only imagine what the 24V can put out with 11:1 compression, 10mm custom cams, adjustable pulleys for dyno turning, short 42 mm ID runners and 1.625" ID headers!!! I think for the 24V the limitation for the cams and revs are the hydraulic lifters.

my engine is already since june 2008 in the car, but we needed some parts from south afrika to come...

they didn't show up yet!
we sourced the parts from performatek and now i am waiting for my mechanic to continue his work.

Look at Mike's 12V, >175 bhp with 9.5:1 pistons, s-cams and Jetronic.

For the lower airbox I made a HUGE cutout. At a later stage I will form some sheet metal to make it look nicer. I'm getting air from the sheet metal which I cut off from, right beside the radiator mount.

Z whats the intake size. have you a few more pics ? Check out these runners 48mm. They are going to be moulded in plastic. Dont ask price as they are not available and who knows which set up they will benefit until testing starts.
