Racing wheels 7"x15" and weights

Team Dynamics Pro race 1 weights 5.9kg, which is quite good number I think. OZ Ultraleggera would be lighter, but not available on PCD 5x98. Pro Race 1.2 get's on 6.9 kg, which is quite heavy for racing purposes. Is there any other reasonable options on 7"/15" wheels for 5x98 Alfas?

Like i already told you, I'd go for OZ xx-leggeras. Just use bolts to change the pattern or drill your own. 7x15 are about 5.2 kg each. Best bang 4 buck.

Then we have Image-wheels at £260,- each. You get to choose the ET you want which is very nice. Weight should be about 5.5 kg. I'm considering these (in 8x16) for the GTV to get ET -20!

Then we start talking difficult to get and expensive.
Volk CE28N 4.1 kg each. Worth it - Me no think so.

What about hubcentric vs lugcentric? If you used offset washers bolts, what do you do to keep the weight of the car on the bore of the wheel and not the lugs?

yeah
like mats saids dont worry about it...
if you know that you are very nicely concentric when you torques wheels nuts...then anything will move.

So...are you saying that if I used a 5X100 wheel with a 73mm center bore and those offset washer lugnuts, I would be OK?

For some reason, specifically hitting a wall at track speeds, I'd think you would need to use one of those machined rings that fits between the hub and the wheel.

Yes that is a good idea, for centering the wheel prior to torquing it down. But look at almost all the aftermarket wheels, they have plastic centering rings, not really something that would carry the weight of the car.

Forgot to write where I ended up with the wheel search.. So I bought two sets of ATS DTC wheels with double bolt pattern, 4x100 and 4x108. Then redrilled 4x100 to 4x98. Now I can use the same wheel and tyres on my both race cars.

The weight was claimed to be 5.7kg, but when I got them, found that they were really 6.15kg! For a while I was thinking if sending them back, but decided to keep them because they were otherwise just what I was looking for, and still reasonable priced compared to weight.

Post some pics of those wheels. What size tyres are you running. Im thinking of going up to 225 from 205 on 15'' 7j compomotives. (semi slick) Comments anyone one. Should the rim be widend to 7.5j or is it a waste of time?

Kimmo is running 205/50R15. It's the biggest tire allowed in the class we are racing (the 75 TS).

I'd upgrade to 225 any time if rules allow. It's also the size I'm using in the GTV (other class than the 75).

7.5 or 8" would be better for the 225. Whether it's worth it can be speculated.

I don't even dare saying what rims I got in 7x15 not to be chopped here. They weigh 5.0 kg each anyway.
