Easy. If you have an oil pump now, just recondition it with higher tolerances and get rid of the inlet screen. It's good for 80lbs which is more than enough.
A so called "racing" pump would be no different.

Oh I disagree with you...! A racing pump will cost 8 times more !!

No experience in this one but completely get rid of the intake screen, gut feeling says wider mesh ok.

Yeah sorry Bazza. I did forget to say the 8 times cost surge would give it a status symbol as well.
Maurizio. The screen removal is just the icing on the cake but you gotta make the cake first otherwise you are wasting your time.
No, the central thing is to improve the tolerances within the gear sets within reason otherwise you can overdo it as well and give your self problems. Any good machine shop, fitter and turner mechanic should be able to do it. Got a feeling JK's latest book has a section on it.
Mine cost $150 AUD to do and yes it does make 80lbs and it's a 1978 Alfetta original pump.

Mike, seriously now...I would have said that getting rid of the screen would POSSIBLY allow a vortex or funnel to develop and suck air ?
I thought that was the main reason for the screen...
Interesting I think...anyone ?

Main reason for the screen is to keep the shit out. I've seen some badly clogged ones from all the junk.
I usually tightened the clearances slightly which improves pressure at low rpm or when oil is really hot. Doing this is very easy.
Spruell had a more powerful pump but it's discontinued.
Then there's always external pumps like the one I've bought from Weaver brothers. Didn't mount it yet though.

rebuilt pimp if needed, fit wire mesh screen, restrict oil feed to head, block oil feed to lower chain pulley brass bearing(lots of hot oil pressure escapes from there big leak close to main oil gallery)
