Re: Turbocharged 79' GTV - Track Car Build

Most likely the screw would have been bent off in about a microsecond so yes, they are soo needed.
I would have put some kund of rubber bushing in there though, in between the screw and the rails just to save the mounting points from shock loads.

thats why i added thos braces, the twisting motion of the diff under high torque blus with bumps and shocks of the car it would flex at that point to much for my liking, i wouldnt make something if it was pointless ??

rubber bushes could work, but as the craddle is now fixed to the diff, and the craddle will be fixed to the body by 2 rubber mounts at the front and 1 at the rear as the standard transaxle usally is. would you recommend it still needs it? any other suggestions / improvements that i could make?

started on the brake / clutch issue.
because the sr is so far back compared to the nord there is no room for a clutch and brake mastercylinder. so ive decided to make a custom floor mounted pedal box (what i can make for material costs would cost around $400-500 for a wilwood or tilton) 3 pedal/ 3 masterclyinders with adjustable bias. i need some opionions / help on mastercylinder sizing. clutch will be 5/8 as thats what the original nissan one is but what about brakes? im going to run volvo 4 pots on the front and v6 brembos on the rear. any one know about masterylinder sizing and can help me out ?

pics to come soon.

cheers, brad

time for an update me thinks...
been pretty busy last couple weeks, building a car trailer and doing work on my other cars.

i have regained motivation after i helped a mate turbo his sr20de (same motor as mine). we did it in a weekend and was extremely impressed when the standard engine with only bolt ons made 211 kw at the wheels on 15psi and was more impressed when i had a ride in his car at matsuri (12hr drift event).

recently ive welded a 3mm plate over where the pedal box normally is, mounted the pedal box 60mm over from where it was (to gain clearance of plenum and cluthc mc) modified my pedal box to mount the clutch and brake pedal and mounted the nissan clutch mc.

ive remade my engine mounts, shifting the engine back even furthur and yesterday i bought some go fast bits (new turbo, stainless exhaust manifold, braided oil feed / water lines and a dump pipe)

ill upload some pics when i have time to get the pics of iphone to computer.
