do you have pictures of the new driveshaft with bmw differential?

I've infinite problems with the mix bmw rubber joint/cv rear joint, now we try with double cv joint but now I see you advise against to use it..

I'm still using the sedan diff in my car with a one pice prop of 850mm long with two CV and a torsion resilient tube with no problems and perfectly smooth. I had problems when I had universals as the angles were greater than 3degrees and off in both planes . This is my prop

This is my friend's car who has used my flywheel and clutch set up with same ZF box as mine. He has used the X5 3.0 diesel prop with CV at back , rubber at front . No problems at all.

On the previous page I was working on the dash and heater unit. I have finally got my heater bracket made . Can’t help myself by putting and Alfa badge on it even though it’s under the dash and no one will eve see it 😂😂😂

My dash is in .. thanks again to Richard for flocking it . Waiting for my fuel sender gauge to fill vacant hole .
Slow progress as many projects on go but should be ready for trackday next month ! Thinking dash looks better so car should go faster :wall:

Sadly this car has not been getting much use this season due to all the work on the 2.5 and Junior, however I thought i need to do some work on the electrics in preparation for the heated front windscreen. Then I realised I had forgotten what are all my relays and fuse boxes were for so hence I ordered an old school label gun for an old school car ! ( old school operator)
Another reason to label the starter panel is my mates often move my car around when I'm away in SA and now I dont need to explain all the switches and sequence :):):)
Strangely enough everyone wants an old school label gun, brings back memories !

It’s been a while since I have posted on the track car but with all that’s happened this year I have just been doing tweaks here and there . The carburettor GTV 3.0 has been sucking up time as well as having loads of fun doing trackdays (in between the lockdowns) in a twinspark 75 belonging to a mate of mine .
With the help of the maestro JK I have sorted the my noisy fuel pump . Well let’s say it becomes noisy as when fuel is low . Not that the fuel is so low that it’s sucking air but my existing the fuel pump was 260L/Hr seems to be circulating way to quickly. The return line goes directly into an internal swirl pot which is topped up with a red top facet pump thus the fuel does not have time to cool. JKs new recommended Bosch 0580 464126 pump at 148L/hr has done the trick . This pump is capable for over 300hp which he uses on the high boost 1.8T’s .
Some pics of the new pump and side view of the tank. You can see all the outlets from the tank. Must say this tank shape has worked well for packing the wet weather wheels.

Sometimes you install a new part then realise it’s not in the correct position. In this case my heater unit needs to fit be fitted to a lower position to keep the pipe work lower than the reservoir bottle . (air trap) . My reservoir bottle sits quite a bit lower than normal due to the roll cage bars triangulating into the engine bay. I have also installed two gate valves on the heater hose. Some pics to follow

Like with most of us not match is happening regarding tarckdays etc so I thought I would recheck and ACF the suspension on the track car as it has been in the UK for nearly 6 years. Can't say there was anything wrong but a refresh for the season coming up start it off fresh again. I had all the tarnished parts replated again and touched up any areas on the A arms with hammerite that looked a bit crusty. I must be bored but at atleast this was keeping me sane.
Finally my 16" compomotive wheels arrived. These would be for my wet weather use and driving to tracks. Thanks to Richard Melvin for organising these. I always wanted to have Pilots sports on with a suitable so these 215 were my perfect choice with keeping my circumference fairly close to my 225/45/15 track tyres.
Strangely I'm doing the opposite of what most people do, I'm removing my race cams which had 1mm shims with the hydraulic lifter and swapping out for some Newman regrinds.

Summer is here ! Cars are out. I have been working on another version of a side exit with two long straight through silencers with twin dual silencer. I think this should beat Goodwoods decibel meter !

Hi Z, as the car was on axles stands in my store and we are not allowed any welding to take place , I had to cut all the all the pieces and build it in stages with sticky tape . After each section was looking good I got it spot welded next door then when the whole section was looking ok then I took to really good welder to stainless weld it up . I must have had it out ten time as on one occasion it all fell apart on transport to welders .
In the end of the day I thought this is now totally quiet but then I failed the noise test at Goodwood by 4 Db!! Not sure what to do now . Fit some stupid contraption on the exit pipes for certain tracks ??
