i stumbled onto the xmuffler last night

but its got me wondering about the routing on the project...to go with a flat wide pipe ala nascar style to allow for a larger pipe without sacrificing ground clearance

last thing i want to do is change the sound...i love the way my gtv6 sounds and want the project to sound the same or close..even tho its 20 inches shorter lol

I don't think there is a way to make that engine sound bad, so don't worry about it too much.

I think the best way to get the sound right is to get some one to weld for you, buy diferent diameters of tubes and test each of them with a muffler at the back. Live the exaust manifolds stock and play with the midle and rear section till you get it right. I think that spending $us 2.000 in a exaust system is not worth it. I spent $ 900 pesos ($us300) for a system made here in my country by one of the two most famous exaust specialists in Argentina. I´m not very pleased. Its to wide and it doesnt scream any more. If I find a good welder and buy the steel tubes from the source that will be much cheaper, I will replace the middle section with thiner tubes, a little wider than stock and have custom made the center resonators but smaller than stock.
I heard about the cross pipes here too. I dont know about that. I think its not nessesary if the pipes join to exit in one. I think thats good for those V8s that have two exits in each side and never join.

I kind of like this sound (modifed exhaust for GTA)

http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/vena-e-a ... _r_t2t.wav

This is not bad too, has more bass, less scream, but not the usual big bore exhaust syndrome.

WOW!! Always thought the sound of the 3.0 12v and the 3.2 24v to much Bass,
not edgy enough like the GLORIOUS 2.5 12v! I think I must reconsider :D

Specs on the setups!!! I'm about to put a 3.0 12v in my GTV6 since i scrapped the 2.5 12v on a trackday last year (dropped valve, hole in piston :( )

I want it to sound like the 2.5 12v as much as possible. Any suggestions how to do that?

Seems like all the nice sounding exhaust are from Japan. There are companies there like Arqray, EBN, Fabril, Seclam, Unicorse, Garbino, etc

But the first link which I posted has the exhaust components made by:

http://unicorse.co.jp/

They're super expensive, but at this point .... well most of the components on my car is worth more than the car itself anyway, so I've never really cared about how much I spend on it. Financially it's a disaster. But it seems to keep me happy, so I guess I'll keep on throwing money at it.
