I don't want to be off topic, but you're right. The idea is to make new sycros. (I wrote more about this on Transaxle fix??!!! topic) The method you've suggested sounds great! The only problem is I don't know yet where do we have repair shop like that, but I will ask. Thank you for the info!

Tectoteam, thanks for you as well.
ok, also you can fit different synchro rings.
there is different models.
the first, 'soft' used on first gtv6 and on others models.
an others with a yellow color circle tip that are a bit stronger and meka the job as well as the 'soft'.

the weak syncrho is:605-16446
the 'hard' syncrho is:605-22434

you can also find the reference in the eper software that are used by the alfa shop.

I'm going to fit the front discs and calipers from a 156 GTA in my GTV6 and I have a doubt:

Should I change the brake master cylinder and fit a bigger one? What about a Wilwood 7/8" brake master cylinder kit? Is it easy to install?? Anybody tried this?

so you have to fit 2 master cylinder.
the oem one make for the front and rear brakes at the same time.

eventually, you outa the brake booster and fit 6/8(3/4) or 7/8 for front and 0.625 for rear...but also need to fabricate a balance bar and fit also a brake limiter.

the gta is not so bigger (the calipers), install and use it with the gtv6 brake master cylinder should works.

TO brakes makers.....

what are you thinking if i fit the studs screwed direct into the hat ??
the hats are made from 7075 alloy, that is not so 'weaky'..

here pics of my future hats,.....
in the begining i was planning in a back circular plate where the stud where screwed....but this make a awesome longer studs... and hard to find....and.....And........

i prefer from far studs on the hat. simple/ligther......

so....?? what are you thinking about ?

Upright, spindle I'm guessing.
You can make an adaptor bracket instead.

You'll probably have to do what most of us did, make your own application templates as accurately as possible and have a machine shop make the adaptor brackets for you. Sometimes though, if you find a competent machine shop, you can leave them the upright, disc and caliper and they will do everything. Here in Athens, they charged me 130Euros for 2 alloy brackets and 250Euros for 2 alloy bells (mounting new Brembo 4-pots on 3liter uprights with new 310x32mm Wilwood discs. Total cost, including calipers+discs came to 1170Euros-not cheap!!)

What material should I use to build the brackets? Aluminium? Steel?

I can get good prices at the machine shop for that, but I want to give them the mesures so they don't loose too much time and charge it to me!! ;D

Damn!!! 250 euros for the two hats??

If you go up this thread (a few posts back) you will see the types of aluminum proposed by some members, for brackets and hats. The prices I quoted include hard anodizing (which only accounts for about 40Euros though).

IMO, 250 Euro for two hats is DIRT CHEAP. :o

I'm guessing you didn't get a small paper with some printed letters on it when you gave him your colored bits of papers? ;)
