Friend modified calipers for ears clearance. It seems that there's not much to grind...

The Opel Vivaro/Nissan Primastar discs didn't work out to well so i deleted the info..

My new setup includes the 2003+ 156 GTA discs, 330x32mm. They had the centering hole enlarged today and tomorrow the studbolts will arrive with me so i can fit them coorrectly to the hub.

Using these discs compared to the 305mm ones gives me 12,5mm more room with the mounting ears. It looks like it will fit without grinding/filing the calliper or the upright. :D I'm going to use the 166 v6 callipers, they just need widening out ( 32mm discs in stead of the 166 28mm).

I hope to testfit the calliper and disc ext week and will make more pics then.

The steel 15" wheel just fits over the disc, the calliper will never fit.

the calliper just clamps on the disc for the moment. The ears did hit eachother and the calliper needs some grinding to stop that from happening. Will post a pic of how little is needed compared to the ones from Killaz.
and just a quick shot of what it will look like in the end. 8)

looks great!
you dont have any pictures of the car with the wheels on it? i have a set the same but cant see what they look like until i put the 75 hubs onto the gtv :( did you also need to machine out the back of the rim to fit onto the hub?

for now, im going to put volvo 4pot calipers on 164 rotors for my track car, does anyone know whats required to fit the 164 rotors to a 75 hub?

cheers, Brad

Sorry, no pics from the wheels on the car :( ... And they're for a GTV anyway.

The centering hole needs enlarging to 72mm and needs a small 45 degree edge to fit the hub nicely. But i think you'll also need a spacer between the disc and the hub if you use the 164 disc. :?

And ofcourse there is the issue of the wheelstuds. the 75 ones don't fit the 164 disc, holes are a bit larger and there is nothing to keep them from turning ( on the 75 disc they have an edge/rim and a flat spot at the bolt head that keeps them from turning.

I guess xrad ment leverage for new attaching points on gaborbs solution. One Finnish guy thought the same idea. If I recall right, I calculated that the M12 bolts would snap, if there's any play.. There's only few centimeters from center to bolts..

In the centering hole there is a 45 degree angle,( because the hub doesn't have a sharp angle but a slight curve the disc needs a small angle to clear that so that it touches the surface of the hub perfectly) but it's on the wrong side... On the Opel/Nissan the discs are fitted over the hub while on the Alfa they're behind the hub.

If you now cut a new 45 degrees on the other side of the disc you end uo with a very small centering ring or even a slightly larger centering hole.

I hope this is clear... quite hard to explain in English..

Just out of simple curiosity, has anyone tried 166 calipers and rotors on a 116? A bit bigger than Gtv / Gta rotor (310mm) but should still fit in 16". Not to mention the prices...

Thought about that one also. :)

I use the 166 calipers but not the discs. the 166 disc has a 5x108 PCD so needs more modifying to fit the 5x98 hub.

The 166 caliper is slightly bigger as the GTA caliper as well. I use the 166 caliper with some 4mm widening plates on the 2003+ GTA 330x32mm discs. But this will definetly only fot in a 17" wheel.
