There was a 159 s 1.497 litre / 90.3 cu in 2 valve per cylinder /sohc twin roots type superchargers straight eight producing 425+hp 287 bhp per litre top speed 310 kmp/h 4 built in 1951.
That 53 year old supercharging technology sounds good to me !

Kevin, thanks for your words. Like Mats I too am wondering what a 159 V6 is. Please tell us!

That Alfa 159 is awesome. It would be nice to see affordable replicas of that car. I am a little tired of all the Cobra replicas at shows. Now I am getting off topic...

Yeah I know what a 159 is, I did the tour of the Storico.
It's the -84 I'm interested in. :)

Hi Mats

The 84 159i is the last of the Alfetta 4 door shaped cars, before the 75 and the 90. As far as I know they were produced in 2l 8v form. The V6 in Kevin's is no drought a latter enhancement. These cars came with all the bells and whistles, electric windows, mirrors and electrically adjustable seats...I think the engine also slightly higher compression than the GTV 2l, with hydraulically adjusting valve timing. We had these cars available till 85, when Alfa withdrew from South Africa.

Greg,

Did you mention something about an auto ignition retard mechanism for your car when on boost? If you did, can you elaborate more on it?

Zamani, yes I did mention that. No I can't elaborate on it.

Bob, the exhaust note is basically the same but louder at full throttle. Of course it's mixed with the sound of the supercharger and air being sucked in. I think it sounds great, so do my teenage kids.

Actually I wonder, if the car makes boost, and you feed the boost into the dissy's vacuum port, won't that make it a boost retard port instead of a vacuum advance port?

There are only a few secrets. Overall I think I have given more detail on this kit then anyone else has given out for any other product on the market for our cars. I am leaving out information on fuel, ignition, and a couple other items that have a huge effect on performance.
