Barry sorry to be a bother, but do you have any updated pics from this build?
Would love to see how you fitted the intercooler piping?

Hey Bazza. Looking at those chrome pipes man I just figured out where you got that shinny a*se. At the chrome works of course... :D

What's wrong with a smooth and uncluttered 2 litre sleeper bonnet anyway.? Keeps the lines of the car like they were originally intended. The so called power bulge mimicks the American muscle cars which the GTV 6 never was / never will be. Its an after thought, pure and simple and compromises the original sleek design. Slim is slick.

Sorry Greg. Can't agree all the time. People will think I am on the same payroll. :D

American muscle cars?? Name one guy who wouldn't trade three gtv's or 75's for one '70 Hemi 'Cuda, Boss 302, Fb Trans Am, GTO or any other great machines of the time (in great shape though)!

B.How does the motor sound ? Are you running any boxes on the exhaust? MD , I guess the 3.0L bulging bonnet is not on your list of favourites but I do agree smooth , unclutterd looks better but only on the Alfetta GT without bumpers. Any back to Baz.
Cheers

MD, I think if you re read my posts here you will find I said I like the Alfetta hood, so we are not in disagreement.

The Barracuda was a poor car, with a great engine (340, 383, 440 and 426).

I already have my Barracuda....with a 440 in it.

I'll tell you what though...it's a royal pain in the arse to get that thing around a gas station, much less a corner.

Yeah, I had a 71' Challenger with a 392 Hemi, now that car was a terrible car, but it was damn fast. My son has a 74' Satellite we put a build 360 in. That's a pretty good combination, fast, corners well, and has lots of interior space.

It probably goes beyond actual car capabilities and virtues, it must be an age thing! I grew up around Mach-1's, Trans-ams, GTO's etc. Then I discovered Alfas and fell from grace!
For the record, the way to Alfa went through '65 289 Mustang, '66 Tri-power 289 Shelby-ized Mustang, '74 MGB-GT, '74 Jensen-Healey', '75 GTV 2000 (105/Spica), '71 GTV (1750), '76 Alfetta GT, '90 75 3liter, '87 1.8T.
In 1977 I came very close to buying a '66 GTA (I would trade my 1750 + CDN $2000) but the fact the GTA was un-streetable racecar aborted that (don't give me the old jive about hindsight now!)
Maybe famous Detroit iron doesn't like corners, but I'll still watch 'Bullit' over and over again!

Some of those muscle cars corner pretty well, with equivalent tires the better ones corner at least as well as the larger European cars of the day. However the big block shorter wheel base cars (Camaro, Barracuda, Challenger, Mustang, etc.) were pretty bad and somehow those cars are the ones everybody remembers. Drive a 69' Buick GS sometime, it's very fast and can corner and stop.

Of course it would be even better with Barry's single turbo conversion.
