Stupid... Just farking STUPID!!!! This thing is UNREAL! I had high expectations but I must tell ya; this is amazing... The way you can blip the throttle - just like you would expect from a race-engine and get that bark!!!! BLAM-BLAM - not even just up high, but low down - from 2500 to 3500 and from 3500 to 5500 - the throttle-pops are just wonderful...

This is where Dawie's internal engine balancing of all of the moving componenets, combined with the lightened and fully balanced flywheel and crank-pulley really starts to show it's colours... Coupled with Andrew Garcia's lightened rear flywheel and Greg Gordon's open intake setup this is going to be even more!

We are running 12 1/100s clearance on the pistons (99.88mm to a 100.00mm sleeve) and I am sure that this is another reason that we have such loose-reving results. (Also, 6 thou on the crank...)

Since we had those huge intake plenums off, you could see the 6 ITB butterflies open up and hear that sucking-sound mated to the thunder down by my feet where the two mufflers exit right below the front passenger-seats... With the hydraulic lifters modified down to .3mm you won't need solid lifters.

I am amazed at Dawie de Villiers; I expected much and got much more! He told me that he was building something truly special for us, but I had no idea! I mean, barring our fuel and our altitude, he puts this together that will just blow your socks off! Now it still has to get tuned more here and it will undoubtedly become even more!!!

BTW; I owe a bunch of you guys some responses on PMs sent to me this past week... Sorry - I will respond soon! The 5 x 3.45 litres that Dawie is building now are going to be equally impressive (lower piston speed with the shorter stroke - better revs...)

I have about 15 min of edited video with start-up etc. of the 3.7. However, compressed it is still 56M or so, and my ISP does not allow it on the allocated web space

I uploaded it as described under "filmarkiv" (sent you a U2U with a short description) - could you please post it on your server, and post the link here?

Nah, the FTP on your server doesn't seem to work... or (more likely?) I cannot get it to work.

I got no response from the FTP about it being done, and when I tried to download it from the FTP site, it would say "size 0 bytes", and the file coming back would indeed be 0 bytes... Anyhow, glad that it worked

No luck FTP'ing the video to Mats. Have tried 4 PCs (home, work, ...) various FTP software on each, Sun Solaris, you name it... still no luck. Starting to think it is firewall related, but even disabling the firewall temporarily doesn't seem to help.

Looks like I will be sticking a CD in the mail for Mats so that he can put it up on his server...

I checked out a few free web hostings, but they have limits in file size of typical 1M and limit in daily transfer as well. I was thinking to put it there for Mats to pick it up. But, another dead end...

Sorry, snail mail will have to do... hard to believe in this day and age...

I tinkered with the server last night, hopefully it will work now.

Big note to everyone: Do not use Openftpd as your ftp-server, it is a crappy piece of software and it will bring you a big headache.
