The work goes on. We´re at the moment building a cage and fixing the whining gear box. Not much to show off, but here´s some pics.

I hope that low crossbar on the main hoop isn't for harness mounting.

The angle of the shoulder straps can cause spinal compression. They should be no more than 45 degrees from the shoulders as they pass over the seat.

If you hadn't planned on it already, mount a high harness bar about level with the tops of the seat.

The crossbar on the pics is actually the bar that goes over the windscreen, the cage is "folded" backwards in the pics... ;)

Peter!

No, we´re not gonna use it for the harness. But it is part of the cage we´re building. Side impact bar. We´re using something higher for the harness, still under construktion.

Peter,

I am pondering the idea of making my own cf/kevlar bonnet and trunk lid. I will not be getting to it for some time, but when I do I will post photos and so forth. I intend to purchase a vaccum bagging system so that I can do the job properly. I know it would be very innexpensive compared to importation. The materials are not too expensive and I am told that it is easier to work with carbon fiber than glass fiber.

What type of air channeling are you envisioning?

Seb,

What kind of spoiler do you have attached to your front bumper? It looks very nice. I also am feeling euro bumper envy  after looking at your photos.

Zambon!
The front spoiler is home built. It is the original bumper with the spolier from a 164 QV (S) attached. Had to modify it a bit, but it works.

Other news about the racecar:
* The cage is finished and in place.
* The engine is back in after changing all the crank bearings.
* The gear box is finished aswell. It is the diff from a TS, the gears from a 2.5 and the clutch fom a 3.0 :-)
* Two new Sparco Evo seats are in place with new 4 point belst.
* Plastic (Macrolon) side and rear windows are on the way...
* Ball joint caster rods are in place aswell.

Thats all I can think of right now, will return with pictures for You later.

OK, some news then...

Finnaly the track car is back on it´s wheels after a winter of modifications and repair. The engine is back in the car and the gear box aswell. The angine has been given new crank bearings and the gear box has been partly replaced du too heavy pinion gear damage last season. Now the final gear and diff is from an TS, the main gears from a 2.5 and the clutch from a 3.0.

Fits like a glöööööööve!

Will keep You posted on the progress. Last night we started her up for the first time and she purred like a kitten, a BIG kitten!!

Now we just need to mount an open-air-filter and get some smaller thinges done.

Peace/ Seb

Yupp, turned out pretty nice huh? We cut the inside of the doors out and replaced it with 0,5 mm alu sheeting. Looks nice and lesser risk of hurting hands/arms.

Allright! The track car is finally running again. We took her for a little test run this past weekend and it feels solid! Hera are som pics of her out in the sun again after a long winter.

Also we have finally changed the horrible wood imitation shift knob to a racier version from an old GTV6. Also the hand brake is from a GTV6

Ride On!!
