Happy as a pig in $hit! Done with the short intake! Spent a few hours at the exhaust shop today and drove home with the goodies. This work would not have been possible without the mockup. If the car was there instead of the mockup, it would be very cumbersome or -more probably- impossible to do the work. Here are some pics:

Nice!!! But even tough my 3.2 is not ready yet, I'm thinking of selling all the 75 race car, trailer, truck and getting a 4C and then put a Pogea racing ECU in it :D .

Z , send the cams to me . Still prefer my 3.7 to the 4c :D
Jim that set up will fit nicely into a 75 but it will catch the bonnet if it was in the GTV . I had to trim mine down . Still pity I never did a comparative dyno run then with same motor and the two plenum set ups . What's the length of the short set runners . Pic attached was the max height I could get .

100/120mm (short/long side), much shorter than chromies which differ in length between their two patterns with 155/240mm for one type (long/short side), 210/180mm for the other. The distance is up to the plenum neck bottom. Add the 30mm of the plenum 'trumpet' and the intake 130mm length to the valve and you have ~270mm for the short and ~360mm for the chrome job. Apparently, this 90mm difference makes a very significant performance difference in the simulator and this will be investigated.

The new shorties should be identical right? Why is there a difference?

What difference? Its a curved pipe so one side is obviously longer than the other. For the calculation, I took the median: (100+120)/2 = 110mm.

OK I get it, I think you're saying, given a curved pipe section, the inner radius is x and the outer radius is Y. This difference is exaggerated for a pipe section where there curvature is greater, i.e. the long runners.

I originally thought you were referring to the center radius of each short runner.

The center 'radius' length can be approximated by finding the median between the inner and outer lengths.

When you take pics like this one, you know your work is about done!
Put the pre-oiling tool to use yesterday, while a friend was turning the crank. The mechanical gauge I hooked up soon showed ~4bar (~58psi) pressure while I was driving the pump at the drill's low speed and then...SPLAT-SQUIRT! Wtf... Hmmm, I had not tightened the small oil filter sufficiently and its rubber O-ring decided to jump out of the groove, messing up the hood and windshield of my 1.8T...%$#*@!!
Incidentally the enlarged plenum shown holds 4.2 liters of water.
