If you stretch the 80% duty cycle you can get more hp of course.

On my 3,0 12 valve race engine (228 Hp on wheels) I have Siemens/Deka 352 cc/min injectors. Fuel preassure 3 bar

Max injection duty cycle is 55%

I'm sticking with the stock injectors for now.

The car is running :!: now sporting dual side-exit exhausts - it is pretty loud so I might keep those for the track and use a more conventional system for the street.
In any regard. I want to see how the dual exhaust performs on the dyno/tuning session which is scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Hi Mike,

Glad you have it running now. Can't wait to see the dyno. Just out of curiosity what alternator set up did you go with?

Hi Chuck:

The car has the stock alternator but I added a pulley from the 164 - seems to work just fine. Pics opn page 12/13.
I think there is a thread somewhere describing an ebay auction for an upgraded alternator which might be 90 amps. I'll get one of those as soon as I find one.

Hi Mike,

I looked at page 12/13 but did not see anything. Are you using the 164 Alternator or the GTV6 Alternator?

Sorry - page 11.

I am using a stock GTV6 alternator.

Hi Michael,

No problem on the page #. I needed to use the stock alternator as well. If you did use the 164LS alternator I was wondering how you mounted it. The 164LS alteratore has 120 AMPS so this is the better alternator. However mounting it was the $1,000,000 question. Glad your almost done with your conversion and cann't wait to see it done.

Hi Michael,

I am glad it's almost done. This has been a really long project so I know you are anxious to drive it.

I had the car tuned and dyno'd on Thursday and the results are 218 RWHP, torque is 185, achieved around 4600 rpms:
Dyno results - 07/02/2009

I posted the map on the GoTech page along with a description of the setup.

Assuming 10% driveline loss, the engine is making ~240 HP at the crank (a little more than a stock 164Q).

I still have quite a few things to to - the map is generally good but I need to adjust it to start easily still.

Mike,

That is fantastic power, especially considering that the engine is very mild engine. You should have 0 problems passing emissions.

What was the peak ignition advance and at what RPM did you have it at the peak?

Congrats Mike

Power is excellent torque is a little lower than I expected.

It will be a blast to drive enjoy.

hmm just below 4500 you seem to run a bit rich and there is a big increase in power. I would say at WOT you might want to run richer like you did in the bump.

I think the torque is pretty close to what it should be ... I have 185 at the rear wheels. The 164Q specs shows 202 at the crank. Presuming the same 10% driveline loss, that puts me right at 205 ft-lb.
The car basically has no back pressure, just twin 2.25" side exit exhaust pipes which might account for the relatively lower torque gains :?:
Its massively loud!

Z, I'm not sure about the total ignition advance - will need to look at the map again. We used Chuck's map and tuned form there, so the ignition advance is probably similar.

Barry, this car has the larger 45mm intake runners.

slyalfa - well noted on the richness around 4200 - I'll ask the tuner (Alex at Carb Connection - excellent work BTW :)). Also, the mixture goes leaner around the rev limit which makes me wonder if in fact the 164LS injectors were tapped out there. Can I determine the duty cycle from the GoTech interface?

The map is posted in the GoTech section for those curious.
