Callaway

Post by Petear »

There is an 86 Callaway for sale in the latest edition of Alfa Owner. I've gotten some photos of it and it does not look like other Callaway's I've seen. Anyone have access to a registry? Did Callaway change the hood scoop at some point?

Believe it or not, the seller didn't send any photos of the engine. I'm looking at a standard black 86 body with U.S. fenders, etc, and one enormous hood scoop (way bigger than the one I'm used to seeing). No Callaway badges are evident on the body. Is that normal?

hey jes, nice cars you got there, decided to keep em hey?

what other alfa did you end up getting?

i would like to know what you're using on your exterior plastic trim? it looks excellent ! have they been painted, or re-dyed?

looks like you take excellent care of your cars.. good to know that these reasonably rare cars have a good home !

cheers,

Yup, kept both, but the verde may be going as I have the milano 3.7 V6 24v track project picking up steam.

Back then I was getting the Q - had been looking for years, on and off, for a low milage one. So when a 27k orignal miles one came up I jumped on it.

No repaints on either car, original paint. I believe it is some regular stuff for the plastic/rubber trim - I'll check.

I`d like to see some visual aspects on the 3.7L Verde.

Uh, was that for me? Don't think we should hijack this thread.

Different

The car I've been sent pictures of has a hood scoop at least twice as large as the one in your photos, and all other photos of a Callaway I've seen. Was there only one hood scoop ever, or did it change for some reason at some time?
