Exhaust sound...

Hi everybody!
I'm rebuuilding the complete exhaust system on my 2,5l GTV6 and now I wonder if anyonw now anything of acustics? Concidering the sound, what is best - long slim silencer or short thick ones? 2,5" or 3"? I would like to have the sharp sound you hear in rallycars and/or DTM cars.
Anyone now the frequence of the sound poduced in torque-max? I need to now to build the pipes equal long and tuned!
I'm having CSC-headers anyway!
