Will have a go on this new buddy Turbo and see when the mighty powerplant starts to speen its wheel ,modified under-engine tubular manifold ,extra intercooler core and some water injection.
I reckon this setup will easily hit real 600 engine HP after tuning on 98Ron
Still looking for a special clutch for this Transaxle, any ideas?

Wow, more intercooling and water injection! You should have some really really low temps.
That's some motor, 24 valves, lots of displacement and lots of boost, I hope you find a way to hold all the power.
If you need any help with the water injection pm me.

AFAIK the only company having ready cluch disks for the Alfa is Helix.
Max torque capacity is 1428 Nm which should be enough.

http://www.helix-autosport.com/groupa.asp

If you go for this I have some spare flywheels to match.

Thanks Greg ,thanks Micke!
Will need a good hard surfaced flywheel when the helix arrives.I'll let you know.

Look out for the spline! The 'Group A' clutch plate has a different spline then the regular box.

Hey Mats!

You try to scare the shit out of me or what?

I had to check the clutch plates and lucky enough the splines on the Helix match the old TS unit I have.

Just making sure you stay on your toes...

The Group A clutch plate they advertize has a different spline to fit the Group A boxes...

Sorry about the off-topic question, but what alternator are you using?
I need to get something with a serpentine belt for my 164LS engine which is going into my GTV6. 164 alternator?

Cheers,

This time I'm using a cross over pipe under the engine through the rear sump area to clear a normal bonnet.
Haven't yet Plasma cut the 3 holes for the External wastegate ,two on the manifold and one for the DP ,this is what I magaged to pull so far.

The good news are that one can surprisingly use one of the 164 24v header on the right engine sude for the turbo , and the cross over pipe goes in between runners of cylinder 2 and 3, this side's manifold is mounted upside down....!
The left side's manifold I used is also a 164 one which I cut and reconstructed its branches to reach the cross over's area,a bit tricky but afters the cut off collector of that side is positioned it is a type lego job of completing the new lines.

Cheers ,
C.

Michael,

You can still use the alternator off the the 2.5 GTV6. Just change the pulley to a serpentine pulley. I think my mechanic used one of a nissan s13? However, just as easy to take off the pulley and run to your local autoelectrician to match up a serpentine pulley.
Cheers,
Brian

I take it as a big complement , your jobs are superb Barry!

A bit off topic but close to the manifolds subject,a 2.0 16VT manifold I reacently built with a friend in my workshop, it's an improoved supersprint design with 20mm width head flange for 4X EGT sensors side drilled and SC40 thickness Steel with 38mm internal diam, I'm thinking of transpanting such engine with light mods in a GTV next summer.
