Hi Garth, I put it on youtube a while ago. It was a drag race with a 2.0 4cyl supercharged vs a 3.0 V6 car. I took it a little easy when launching the V6 car because it's not my car. However for a moment it looks like the 3.0 will win the day, then...

Here's a link to the web version of a TV-show about the 70-80s Italian cars.
OK, most of You will not understand the speech ;), but there are some nice shots.

Hi Zamani,

No, it has a highly modified 24V 2.5 engine (M20B25). They spent the most money on the engine in my category. There are several cars running on S36 or S38 engines from the early 90s M5 (like in the white one), but this one is a nicely tuned 2.5 with quite well stripped chassis. Has dbilas cams. The 2.5 producing around 280-300 HP. Now it's capable to 12.8 on quarter mile on non-glued airfields. The trap speeds shows that we are almost on the same power level (my best was 170.4 while his 172.4 km/h), but my baby is at least 200 kgs heavier.
But they coming always on trailer while I'm driving to the events. This particular airfield was more than 200 km away from my home.

You mean an M50? I think it has ITBs, at least it sounds like it. Certainly possible for a 2.5 to have > 250 bhp as Honda's F20C has 240 bhp in stock form.

BTW do you know anyone with a modified 3.0 24V with high compression pistons and cams? Interested to know how much they put out.

We can move this to another topic if this is going away too much on a tangent :)

Slightly off topic but these videos are so great you guys need to see them.
Back in the seventies there was an all woman racing series in Sweden called "Lancia Lady Cup" and they drove A112 Abarths. 90hp, 590Kg minimum weight.

Enjoy (even though it's in Swedish)

That E30 surely have ITBs :) You have good ears! ;)

Right now I don't know really hard 3.0 BMW, but the season starts at the end of March, so I will ask some BMW-freaks then. Maybe they knows something.

The quickest 3.0 I know an early E36 M3 running 13.2@172 but usually runs at my level with 13.5-6@168-169.

It's a GTA 3.2 with AHM cams, and a bad exhaust, with a GoTech Pro (which is not tuned well yet). I think this config could do 13.0 with the right headers and settings. I just started to learn the ECU this autumn, so there is no magic yet. Even this is the first time, when I programm an ECU. I will install a wideband AFR system during the upcoming weeks, because until now I ran on narrowband and it's not helped the programming.

Thats my dream motor. I think the best way to go is a GTA 3.2 with hot cams. You should be putting about 270hp?

Hi Fastcar,

Very interested in cams, can you tell me how much quicker it is compared to GTA inlet cams? I bought GTA inlet cams, but in hindsight maybe I should have gone with custom cams.
