Re: Made a couple new supercharging videos and a Callaway vid

Hi Zamani,

That was a long time ago! At that time there was no secondary bypass valve installed. That configuration was only about 5psi so it didn't really need the second bypass valve. The noise was primarily due to throttle position.

Although that early configuration was reasonably quick (205 rwhp with 5psi, no intercooler, no water meth, L-Jet, 8.8:1) I honestly think it's now quicker with the 10psi intercooled 2.0. In any case it's darn close, the current configuration has less power, but the car is lighter, and has the low first gear.

This whole noise thing is really a non issue at this point. Putting the throttle on the intake side along with effective bypass valve setup essentially eliminates the noise when off boost.

Noise when ON boost is another issue. If you want to reduce that, there are a couple ways. One is to use the throttle body from a G.M. car. My supercharged Riviera is darn quiet even when on boost, mostly due to the throttle body design.

The Rotrex is the easiest supercharger to install on our engines. For peak horsepower it's a good choice as are most centrifugals. For total horsepower under the curve, it's not so good.
