Rear fog light doesn't work

Post by Jose_76 »

After checking all the indicators and front and rear lights, I realised that the rear fog light is not working (my car has only one rear fog light). I checked the contacts with a polimeter and found that there are 7 volts (shouldn't be 12?), so I tried several bulbs (one pole 21W, one pole 5W, twin pole 21/5W), because that would be enough tension to make them work, but none of them showed a minimum bit of light.

Anybody can tell me what's going wrong?

Check the wire plug and the circuit board for good contact. The rivets that hold the bulb carriers down and mate them with the circuit can also be loose/corroded. Chack also the grounds below the boot latch.

Good luck!

I checked the ground below the boot latch and it made no difference, so I got the board out and you were right, the mass contacts were loose. I welded them and now it works perfectly. Then I decided to do the same job with the other board and now it's better than ever

Thank you very much!!!
