Which battery?

Post by PietereQ »

My car was fitted with some tiny, puny, depelted battery by previous owner. Which batteries were installed in GTV6? Will 70ah battery be ok?
Thanks,
Pete

Hello Pete,
For sure a 12V / 70 Ah will be perfect.
In the past my GTV6 was equiped with a 60 Ah but,
as you certainly know, sometime it takes a bit longer
to get our GTV's started and in that case 60 Ah is a bit too short.
Since I've put a 70 Ah in mine, it always starts perfectly and
that in all conditions (cold or warm and even very hot).
Best regards.

no matter what kind of battery people say to use, the only one i trust is the Optima Red top battery, will crank forever and usually last a good 10 years before they finally give up. it has 800CCA so it doesnt care how cold it is outside, works wonders. they are pretty expensive, but well worth the money.

Thanks guys, just thought that engine of this size would require some extra power to crank it, hence my guess with 70 Ah.
