Alternator warning light

Post by cchan »

Hello,

The Alternator warning light came on last night when we drove the Alfa around to test the Alfa more. We are looking at our GTV6/2.5 workshop manual and can not find the trouble diagnosis and corrections area for Alternator light on. This manual appears to be more for a Milano but we were told this is the one to get. I have the following questions?

1). Is the Alfa Safe to Drive while we figure this out?

2). Can anyone share with me information on the trouble diagnosis and corrections for this situation.

All parts are new except for the wiring harness which seemed to be in good working order when we restored the Alfa. We have run the Alfa for about 200 miles since we brought it out of storage. We are bring the Alfa to Matt's shop for him to look at upgrading our headlight and we just want to make sure that we don't break down on the journey there and back. Thank you for any suggestions.
