speedo verification?

ok guys im in the process of putting a twinspark transaxle into my gtv6 and OBVIOUSLY i know im going to have a issue with the speedo being the car is an 83(but has 411 gears already?!?!?)
ive dug thru the site using a search...and know that the only real answer is the dakota digital device....
now for the actual question..what wire type of sender do i need for the transaxle as i read thru the searches i found reference to 3 types...and do i need the "black box" from a milano if im going to be running a the dakota unit?
in case it matters...the gtv6 was running what i understand to be the "stock" analog type of sender(one step up from a cable driven unit) basicaly an electrical pickup thats cable driven with 1 inch of cable LOL......
the car in question is what i would consider a "leftover" ballocco down to the last detail so its a very early 83
