HORN problem

Im stumped on this one.
I changed my steering wheel to OMP, with reach extension from RS racing. No big deal, plugged the cable from the column into the the new horn, bolted it all up. The horn works perfectlywith ignition turned off, but as soon as I put ignition on, it doesnt work!
. I cant make heads or tails of the useless alfa wiring diagrams, but its seems as if the ignition stage on the key, is somehow making the horn open circuit, by taking away its path to earth, anyone have any ideas???
