Busso V6 3.2 24v Coil Pack

Post by Alfaaa1 »

Busso V6 3.2 24v Coil Pack Bosch part number is :0221504456.

Hi,
Can I have some confirmation that these coil packs do have built in ignitors.

And has any one fitted a Gotech Pro7 to a 24V Busso v6 with these standard coil packs.

Bosch Part number 0221504456 is just a dumb coil, used in Alfa 24v engines. In the 164Q4 and 156 cars, the output stage is in the ecu and the other two 24v 164's (with afm) have two separate power modules on a bracket near the engine.

Thankyou Kevin and Jim,

I was told that the Gotech Pro 7 could not be used with the Alfa V6 standard coil packs.

I want to keep the standard coil packs as I also have a Phase 3 916 3.2 Spider and I have spare coil packs on the shelf.

I am shopping around for a stand alone ECU.

I had been recommended to use a Gotech Pro X.

Has any one used a Gotech Pro X ECU. Are they good.

I forgot to mention I am fitting a 3.2 to my Alfetta GTV. :D

Gotech has moved on to a newere software and new platforms under the name Powermods . So much easier . Just contact Powermods ECU and they will answer all your question . They also offer dash display units . Excellent value for money and they will load a pretty accurate base map .
Both these cars run powermods ie first two featured here , blue and white 24v GTV and the twin turbo 24v GT

Speak to Paulo or Domi at http://powermods.co.za
They can supply you a gotech as they still own it but just use a Powermods .

If you live in Oz why don't you just get a Haltech ?

Just curious, has anyone ran the factory 24v coils with a cdi unit?

Give me a few days. I have to lift the coil cover on Sunday for start. To get the base timing for #1, I am going to rig a dummy coil up to connect to the harness. I need to know exactly this myself.

I got the info from Beninca. Center pin in ground. I'll paste the photo later.

A step closer for me on the weekend. Working through a few issues.

When you say "Centre pin in ground", do you mean grounded to engine or trigger?

I am using the injector and coil harness off a 166. On this harness, power goes to the pole you have circled in red, green (centre) is earthed to the engine and yellow is the trigger. Having said that I have not got a spark yet. As #1 is under the plenum, I am jury rigging a spare coil to set the base timing.

The green pin is GND. Yellow is trigger.

What ignition system are you using? Are you using the Bosch 203 igntion module?

Haltec HPI 6.

I am not getting a home signal. I am not completely sure on the Signal, Power and Ground pins on the cam angle sensor (May be stuffed). I ave two, and they both test the same with a multi meter. If you know, can you post (i.e. Red...., Green.... and Yellow....). The plug is the same as the COP coil pictured above. This is the only thing it appears to setting base timing and starting it.

Thanks in advance.

Luke
