Starter Motor Heat Shield

Post by MD »

Been a while..haven't been able to log onto the site.

I thought I would share this little modification with you to minimise the radiant heat stress on the starter motor from the exhaust manifold. Not only can it lead to wiring getting fried with cracked insulation but the solenoid itself may suffer causing erratic starting. Naturally all the lubricants get unnecessarily challenged as well.
So the fix is self explanatory from the photos.

Cheers.

MD, looks good. Where did you source the heat shield material from?

Bteoh ... Md has issue logging in as he has been detected as a spy ! He sent me a scrambled text which I have deciphered and the place is “supercheap” ..
Now on this note this means Jim has free reign to torment MD and he can’t defend himself :wall:
