Throttle position switch

Guys and girls,

Can anyone suggest a throttle position switch I can use on my Verde in order to enable TPS input for my GoTech? I'm currently running MAP only, but want to improve the setup with TPS input. Note that I'm looking for a potentiometer type of TPS, not an on-off kind of switch.

Thanks,
Jes

If the Go-tech has a built in calibration setup, you can use almost any pot for positional reference. In other words, if the Gotech hooks up to a lap top or a tuning module, there should be a window which allows you to set zero throt. and full throt. Opening position will then be based on the change in pot resistance.

The hard part: finding a TPS . Look for a three wire one such as a basic Ford, or NAPA, or GM part probably from the early 1990's. Generally rated about 1kOhm to 5Kohm.Cheap and easy to replace. Generally, these use a half moon shaft. You may have to do some metalwork to extend the throttle plate shaft.

Check out on the web: Ebay: Throttle Position Sensor, they have about 50 different types from 10$ up.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot when I get back from vacation in Europe.
