Hi all, the courtesy lights don't work in my 84 GTV 6. I got them fixed up enough to they work when you turn them on manually, but the ground that is triggered by the door switches donsn't work. My owners manual schematic describes a "courtesy light timer" but I am having trouble finding this component under the dash. Anyone got a picture or description of this item so I can find it and see what's wrong? Thanks to this site I have new functioning brakes and a good FI tune up on my car! Pierre

My '83's courtesy lights go on/off with the door but are not timed.

My 85 GTV6 has a timer. The interior lights go off about 15 seconds after the door is shut. You can hear the relay/timer click when they go off.
I'll have to check the 84 but I think its the same.

My 81' gtv6 does not have one. As the '83 I had did not have one either.

I also had a problem with the courtesy lights and the fault was at the door switch which is of a VERY poor quality. It needed a bit of sanding to clean the contact areas and it then worked ok.
