Thermostat Housing (internals)

Post by KevinR »

The reason for this post is I have bought some new thermostat housings and I have had no issues, however I know of three engine rebuilds that have suffered blown head gaskets and after a lot of head scratching and quite a few thousand pounds later it was found the thermostat was jamming closed.
Quite a few years ago some of the guys in Australia found a replacement internals. If anyone knows of another internal part from a reliable brand I would like to swap my parts out.
. So on my car there are no issues but I’m gonna change it out anyway. The race car I have temperature sensors on the incoming and outgoing pipes so I can detect if there is an issue .
Just asking ? Anyone ?

Why not post this request on the Alfa Forum in OZ ? Can't hurt.

Er..you gotta register first.
Having done that, you will find it a very good resource in many and diverse respects.

Cheers.
