A/C Adjustment Pulley Bearing Needed.

Post by brookstroutr »

The A/C belt adjustment pulley bearing is going. Is there a generic replacement for this? Any suggestions, TIA.

The bearing in the a/c pully is designed not to be replaced....However.. if you have a hydraulic press available, the old bearing can be pressed out. The pully has a lip machined over the bearing to hold it in place. I was able to do what you are asking useing a press. Once the bearing is out, a bearing shop can match a replacement. I used lock-tight and staked the rim of the pully to retain the bearing. So far, so good.

Thanks. I have a press and can R & R the bearings. Do you happen to know what bearing you used?
