Temp gauge sender units for GTV6

Hi guys - temp gauge sender unit has failed........
Any suggestions of where to find one ? Jaeger part number 313610 04 there is the occasional used one on ebay for $100 plus freight - second hand makes me very scared!
Did buy a so called replacement from the US but is hopeless
Otherwise I will need to fit a VDO Gauge and sender - but would rather not
