Alfa transaxel driveshaft

well, i was thinking in change the driveshaft system, is it posible to change the system?like cardan, or porsche 944....someone tried to changed it?
Iam installing a 3 universal jointed 2 piece shaft in my race car. I will post the result of testing when it's ready.
As for the Porche approach. I have researched this and given a sheer determination to custom make a replica system for an Alfa is entirely possible. The cost would be open ended..
