36mm deep well for transaxle main nut?

Post by zambon »

I have a line on a 36mm deep well socket and I am wondering if that is the correct tool to remove the main nut from the pinnion shaft on our gearboxes.
Thanks
James

How about a 30 and a 36mm spanner? That's what I always use.

I dont quite understand what the 30 is refering to.

I dont have acess to a 36mm spanner. Even so, doesnt the reverse gear get in the way if you use a spanner?
I have used large adjustable wrenches in the past, but I always rounded the nut. I think it is time to get a proper tool for this job.
So is that confirmation then that the nut is 36mm?

Well, there are two nuts, one is 30 and the other 36mm.

And spanners work very well, plenty of space/acess. What do you mean "don't have acess"? Buy one, surely there are people making money by selling tools in your country? :?

Hey Mats,

When you work on the tranny, won't that make it a total of 3 nuts? :D
