I don't really understand what you are saying...

When the shim wears down it moves the pinion away from the ring gear. You say your gear patterm looks like that with a worn shim?

It can also be something with the backlash, what did the other side look like?
It' very important to torque all the bolts down tight in the housings and side over. It they are not properly seated the pattern will not be true.

I ment that when i move the pignon away from the diff's crown, the pattern becomes more like it should be. So in my case a thinner shim is needed i guess. But i haven't checked the backlash part yet. I only find out what it ment a few minutes ago :oops: . I'll check!

Some other questions:

For applaying load to the gear train for testing with engineers blue, is it good to use the brakes?
For torque down the gearbox i only use 3 bolts for the intermidiate flange and 3 for the diff housing. I guess that's fine?
And the last picture. Is that a picture from a worn shim case or from a to much shimmed pignon..? I thought is was a to much shimmed one..

Looks like coast side is to much to the top of the teeth but driver side is nearly okay...?

Very difficult o see on our pics. Could you try to turn off the flash and increase the grneral lighting instead?
