Ive seen a few cars where the shifter pivot is mounted above the transmission tunnel. Looks like I can get a short shifter kit by lengthening the rod below the pivot,a and th fabricate a rod and universal joints to go directly to the shifter throght the hole from inside the car. Look at Wolfgang Zillinger's 75 in the Intro section. looks pretty nice! Thoughts? I also saw one int a French GTV6 24v race car

Hehheh, I made one of those 10 years ago as prototype. I did work but I wouldn't recommend going with it. Difficult to engage 2nd gear. The ones I made later are much better. Good to see others having a crack at sorting out the shifter.

I have driven Mikes car with his final (of later) design and it was absolutely the best shifter I've driven in any alfa. Mikes later design is brilliant and could be made nearly as light. Show 'm Mike!

What, MD and Dennis are still alive?!

Here's the French GTV6 setup. Looks like the stock GTV6 pivot raised above the tunnel.

MD's latest setup, looks very complicated. I think I saw it in the "our cars" section.

Hey Zeefa, you know that the next flock of snow geese are flying over your roof. I wouldn't do like you usually do and stand around with your mouth open gawking and catching flies.
:D :D

My suggestion is to bury your nose in my future post on this subject to get a grip once and for all.

I'll take up your suggestion Dennis more or less to save Zeefa from his birdwatching addiction. :D

...I'll need a bit of time.
