I searched this topic but there are only questions and no answers.
Does anybody have them for sale for the quad cam 24V?
I got my new cams but I'm 100% sure the first timing will be far from perfect. Removing the intake and cam covers to retime does not sound like anything you want to do on paid dyno time.
So, any pointers appreciated.
If not I already have a manufacturer. I'll have some made for me if I can't find elsewhere. It's only a matter of price vs volume discussion.
Edit: Got a price already. €130,- each for reasonable volumes (3-10 cars)
Re: Adjustable cam gears
Micke,
I may go with custom cams on my 24V (may sell off my used GTA cams) so I could be interested. Although Euro 520 is not cheap, but that is reality. Where did you get them from?
Also what cams do you have for the 24V? Is this for your Q4? I thought it was a road car and not a track toy.

Re: Adjustable cam gears
I can get them from a local machine shop who has done them for several other cars aleady. Examples of what they have:

The cams are custom made. I don't recall the profile. 10.9 lift and duration 240 deg at 1 mm. Should pass emissions and have given >100 hp/l in other projects.
Q4 will be my daily driver. Anything wrong in having 350 hp in it

Re: Adjustable cam gears
Looks the part at least.
That price should be a snap to re-gain from dyno time savings, right Micke?

Re: Adjustable cam gears
Time saving is my main idea.
Of course the engine weight will be reduced by 2 kg. 1.5 from the lighter (rotating) wheels and 0.5 from not being able to cover the nice wheels with the uggly cover

Re: Adjustable cam gears
Aren't the 24v cam sprockets a tapered fit already (no keying)? Just remove bolt and knock them loose. Though, maybe a silly question, but how do you hold cam with sprocket loose (with cam cover on and unable to hold cam) to make sure it doesn't turn on you when you turn sprocket?

Re: Adjustable cam gears
That's right. They are already adjustable by knocking them out and moving.
Doing this accurately without getting to the cams (remove intake and cam covers) seems guite impossible. And then they also don't have any markings in case you could hold them steady in place while knocking.
I'll either get the new adjustable ones or have the originals made adjustable.

Re: Adjustable cam gears
If you have a beard, a timing belt cover is better
I'm gonna get custom cams for the 24V too. Might sell of the GTA cams (trade + cash for stock cams).
