No cams available apparently, but I would guess they are easier to make than a crank.

Re: Alfa romeo v8 engine
Or maybe you can use the stock ones by rotating them 90* crank? Guess that would be a strange way to make a 90* crank though...

Re: Alfa romeo v8 engine
For a flat cranked montreal, surely you'd just used 4cyl cams?

Is there an obvious reason for them to fit? Didn't know the Montreal had two timing chains?la_strega_nera wrote:For a flat cranked montreal, surely you'd just used 4cyl cams?

Re: Alfa romeo v8 engine
My understanding is that the cam sprockets are used to allow for the rod width change in alignment and that the cams themselves are not bank dependent - and they already use so much of the nord architecture that there's a pretty damn good chance the 4cyl cams would drop in.

Re: Alfa romeo v8 engine
ok, I see wahat you mean. But surely the firing order for the 90* crank is not working with the 4-cyl cams? The 180* I can understand but the 90*?

Re: Alfa romeo v8 engine
Mee too. But somewhere along the line the references fell away and in the last post it sounded like you meant that one could use the nord cams in a "normal" Montreal. I just wanted to clarify.
