Finally back online!

Post by Mats »

Thank you for setting up this new board for us Transaxle-heads. :D
This format is way superior to the former "list" and will keep those nice anonymous posters away, finally.

Make some trusted users Moderators and apply a identification principle that everybody needs to attach their full name in the signature, that always helps to create a nice board.

This site will truly be a nice place!

Thanks Mats!
One of the main reasons for the upgrade to this new forum was the problems with anonymous postings that the old board allowed... and the consequent spamming by the porn sites. This board is configured to allow posting only by registered members which is a vast improvement. I like the Moderator idea - as soon as time permits :)

Moderators are used on all larger boards to take the load off the Admin, you should consider that as the board grows.

On a Swedish forum i frequently visit the owner has a very firm name rule, you must sign with your full name. That forum is the nicest place on the net! We're about to do the same on our Swedish Alfa board (www.alfapower.nu) just to keep the tone nicer, no hiding behind a nick anymore.

Keep up the great work!

Hey Matt,

Thanks for letting me know of the new address. You're a pal.

Cheers
Albert

Ps: To the site Admin (Mike), thanks, the new site looks sharp, I'm just happy to have it up again.

Some people claim you are what you drive. But is that true? After all, a lot of people also claim that you are what you eat, and I eat a lot of pork chops. Does that make me a pig?

Is there a way to view only new posts that have been posted since the last time one was logged on? If not, that would be a great feature that I use all the time on the other boards.

Me too, but I favour the function where there are the new ones since I looked last highlighted and the ones since I looked last + 12H or so.
Otherwise you can get pretty annoying results when the list decides to update itself after you answered the first thread, then you have to look through the whole board for the other threads... (like on alfabb.com)

Great new board, Michael! Way better than the old one. The downside is that a lot of info is lost....

Post by FLETCH »

JEEZ Am i happy this board is back up,made me realise how often i have been reading it,literally every day i would go and have a read through all the new topic's and reply's for the day,i discovered the old site years and years ago when i 1st got a computer and the internet, then my life changed a fair bit and i went 10 or so years alfaless :( ,so i spent less and less time online looking at and reading about alfa's. But as some of u know mid 2004 i became a alfa owner again and that was when i instantly went straight back to gtv6.org and from that day on this year i doubt if 2 day's in a row have passed that i didnt go and check up on all the latest goss,so the past week have been dissapointing to not have it to check up on,but now i am happy,we are back :D :D

congrat's to Michael,well done m8
