Re: Alfa Trofeo Racing Series - South Africa (Pics from meet
Fed , the only pannels that are fiberglass are the bonnet and bootlid. Both run 0 toe.
I have just moved to toe in from toe out but my line has changed when entering corners (only slowish hairpins )

Re: Alfa Trofeo Racing Series - South Africa (Pics from meet
Nice Kev! thanks a lot for the pics! any idea on the weight these giulies are running?
I was running some numbers and I think i'm going with the coil over kit from RS racing, as I can't run adjustable shocks, whatever change in bump and rebound setting must be done by revalving, therefore the RS kit seems like a good way to go.
I love the brake setup, those look like twin 75 brembo calipers, I don't know if I could get away with that setup by the rules we have...got to look into that, but in any case I think finding those uprights will be hard.
Also, i'm looking for a TS engine from a 75, not easy to find but seems like the best way to go, std engine with head porting thanks to Jim K book and 45 DCOE's I have laying around here.
I think with a TS engine, cage, fiberglass bonet and trunk lid I could get the weight down to about 1100 kg...plus, the most important and difficult part, I need to lose weight!

Red giuli weighs 1070kg and white giuli weighs 835kg. Red still has glass and most of its body work under boonet and boot. White cars is absolutley shredded.

Sounds about right on the ballpark weight I want to get my giulie at, still looking for that TS engine....

Maurizio, the giuli with the exhaust on front is an ex rally car tnat did all those safari rallies. Its only lately been lowered to the ground.
The white giuli i am referring to is the one with wing , its exhaust comes out side. There are pics of it on another thread which i will look for .

Re: Alfa Trofeo Racing Series - South Africa (Pics from meet
So an Alfa Dealer asked for some of our trofeo cars for a morning display on Saturday . Thats where the fun started . No better excuse to test some more and have a few drag races en route. (i realised i have not grown up yet). The "drive" was 70km so my race tank was fulled to brim.
Now the best part was "driving'' with a Monza on the way back . All I can say is we got more stares and video clips from anyone trying to keep up pace. (not on my car) .Cant divulge to much more but a few pics of the entrants.

Thanks P , but I am going to have to put back the original livery from the 1983 season for the next historic race in january .
Attached is a link from a our last race . This is page 6 , but it's interesting to go through all pages to see body roll of the other cars.
Also picked up I missed the apex of the corner but geez does this car fly and I'm a bit rusty so everything was out a bit . I was in such a rush to get to the track , scrutineer , qualify , bleed brakes etc I forgot to take my dam numberplate off. This negated all the effort I put in trying to get more air to radiator - ( tosser )
