No actually Honda engines are superior to both BMW and Alfa
Now let's talk about oiling a bit. How the heck does the S2000 go to 8500 rpm daily and still last 100,000 miles!!!
Will polishing the oil pump gears and smoothening the oil passage help extend bearing life for those high rpm runs? For us 8000 rpm is a race engine that needs to be rebuilt every so often. But for Honda it's just a street engine...hmmmm.....
Must be a combination of good pump, good bearing material and sufficient surface, good oil cooling, solid bottom end to avoid crank walk and good engine balancing. Did I miss anything? Now in the Alfa, we probably don't have any of those things, so ....I guess we're out of luck?
